This training will be a basis for the actual field survey. We collected soil samples in our university’s farmland, water samples during a field visit in Tama River and sewage water treatment plant. The target test items in the following laboratory work were heavy metal in soil, coliform, E-coli, ion and antibiotics in water samples. This training put focuses on the processes in data calculation and evaluation. Thus we studied how to deal detection limit, blank value, effective digit, how many samples needed, confidence level of the results and correlation among parameters as well as analytical technique for broad application in environmental studies.
