Overview

This program provides education and research on advanced knowledge and technology for sustainable food production systems in sound regional environments, while balancing human activities and the natural environment. Our research objectives include, but are not limited to, the creation and maintenance of functional and beautiful rural environments and communities, efficient and environmentally friendly use of local land and water resources, design and construction of efficient and safe infrastructure for water resources management, optimal design and evaluation of farming systems and mechanical facilities, advanced agricultural production systems using sensing technology and model prediction, and environmentally friendly and sustainable production and recycling of biological resources. The department aims at capacity development for graduates to contribute to the development of rural areas, including those overseas, by making full use of various methods in agriculture and engineering for a given real-world problem.

Organization

The program consists of 10 faculty members who conduct education and research in two education and research fields: Regional Environmental Engineering and Bioproduction Engineering.

Research and Education Fields Content
Regional Environmental Engineering Education and research is conducted on the harmonization of the production environment, natural environment, and living environment in the region where agricultural production takes place, as well as on rural planning and living environment development that contribute to the improvement of the living environment for farmers.
Bioproduction Engineering Education and research is conducted on knowledge and technology to develop a food production and supply chain that can simultaneously solve the problems of production and environmental conservation.

Prospective Students

The Agricultural Engineering and Agro-Food Informatics program is accepting applications from graduate students who wish to enter the Master's Course. The entrance examination for the graduate school is held in late August every year (the second round is held in early December). In addition, an orientation for graduate school admission will be held around July. Details of the information session will be announced on this website.

In this program, there are many graduates from the Department of Regional Ecosystems, Faculty of Agriculture, TUAT, as well as from other universities (Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Engineering, etc.) and Colleges of Technology (KOSEN). If you are interested in entering the program, please feel free to contact our faculty members of this program.
